Jane Wales is the President & CEO of the World Affairs Council of Northern California and the Global Philanthropy Forum; Vice President, Philanthropy and Society and Director of the Program on Philanthropy & Social Innovation at the Aspen Institute; Working Group Chair for the poverty alleviation track at the Clinton Global Initiative; and host of the nationally-syndicated weekly National Public Radio interview show “It’s Your World.” From July 2007 to July 2008 Jane served as Acting CEO of The Elders, chaired by Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Previously, Jane served in the Clinton Administration as Special Assistant to the President, Senior Director of the National Security Council and Associate Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She chaired the international security programs at the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the W. Alton Jones Foundation, and directed the Project on World Security at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. During her tenure as National Executive Director, the Physicians for Social Responsibility shared in the Nobel Peace Prize.
